Upcoming Shows at Sandbox Music
Fedruary 5th, 2026
K / S / R (the trio of Ben Kujawski, Abigail Smith & Justin Rhody) have been performing and recording together since 2022. During that time, they've released multiple cassettes, CDs and vinyl records, and have devastated audiences across the country with multi-projector expanded cinema performances. On the group's recent LP titled 'Already in Heaven', violin, percussion, lap steel, accordion, flute, guitar, harmonica, and Rhodes piano are each stretched, damaged, and made to sing through various extended techniques. The trio’s non-concentric approach to collective improvisation mirrors the dark harmonic density and symbiotic formal structures of the cosmos. Industrial work zones are also a major inspiration. K / S / R's stated intention is to drag the listener through an amorphous subterranean chimera toward an ever-elusive horizon. Desert Crawl.
Ben Kujawski: Rhodes piano, accordion, lap steel
Abigail Smith: percussion, flute
Justin Rhody: violin, guitar, harmonica
BIO: K / S / R has performed & given presentations at galleries, universities, theaters, record stores, and underground venues across the United States. In 2026 K / S / R will release a split LP with legendary Canadian noise ensemble, Nihilist Spasm Band, and embark on a two-week tour of the U.K. Their music has been featured on the renowned Coast to Coast AM radio program, and is regularly broadcast on experimental and jazz-focused radio shows across three continents. All three members of K / S / R co-founded No Name Cinema (an underground microcinema in Santa Fe, New Mexico). They also each independently create 35mm, 16mm, and Super-8mm experimental films that are widely exhibited around the world. By day one member is a master librarian, another member works at a prestigious art school, and the other member is severely under-employed.
